Roger,
I was searching the conditioning page and came across a post with u saying that u were considering posting a WOD geared towards gymnast conditioning and everybody seemed pretty excited and for it. Were u planning on doing this i know i would love that as well. Oh by the way i listned to your interview on crossfit live..very good stuff. I wish i was in Cali so i could take your class u seem to have it together out there.
thanks,

Yeah, that's been in the planning states for quite some time. I'm a bit over tasked as it is right now. I have some options to make this more efficient. I have about 350 workouts stored in my athletics logging tool. I could start pulling the gymnastics centric workouts from there on a regular basis... _________________ TipGuy

I love the idea of having a gymnastic centered conditioning rountine or WOD posted. As im sure others would! I understand you do have a life outside of this forum and respect that very much. Whatever u can do what be greately appreciated. Keep us posted. Others on this board who are interested on this please post.
Thanks,
Casey |

| If you are going to do it you should just set up a system where it's randomized and posts automatically at a certain time. That would require pretty much no maintenance. |

Hey Roger,
Just curious if you were going to start posting a WOD from your log you spoke of from which you said you had over 350 workouts logged. You kinda left it at that without really saying for sure. I dont want to be a pest but i would really appreciate the guidance as i think others would enjoy it also.
Thanks,
Casey |

I want to do that. I've been asked many times. I need to write a script to pull one from the log daily. Unfortunately I have a ton of stuff going on right now and it's very difficult to find time. Yes I'm planning on it. I can't promise when it will be up. Don't worry about being a pest. Keep asking for stuff. I love hearing what people want to see. _________________ TipGuy

Hey Roger i think i may have found a pretty good place to get some lessons and such....Theres a place where the guy that owns the place did gymnastics up atleast through college not sure if he did anything past college. One of the concerns i had as i posted about earlier in adult gymnastics was finding somewhere where it would be alot more focused. Well me and a buddy checked it out and i think what will end up happening is we will split a private 1 hours session with him to get some really focused attention and then maybe go to 2 open gym sessions through the rest of the week. Ive still been looking around but this seems to be the place to get some lessons from so far. As far as the WOD i know you said u cant promise a time because you are busy (i understand) but what kinda time frame are u thinking 1-3 months?? I probably wont be taking any lesson for atleast a month so i was curious. Im sure the guy will give us some conditioning stuff because when we went in to talk to him i told him that was one of the things i want to focus on. I ask about your WOD because i know you have great knowledge with this subject and gymnastics in general so if i do start taking lessons from this guy and hes not giving much for conditioning i would like to be able to reference from you since i can not take lessons from you. lol
Thanks |

Great that you found someone. Get it going, and who knows maybe it will grow into a bigger regular class.
For the WOD I doubt it will be in the 3 month range. Possibly 1 month. Fortunately it's not a big coding job since the athletics log already has the code to pull out and construct the workout in a readable format. I just need to set up a daily cron with a log with some constraints (not repeating the same workout within the same week, etc). Also, right now the workouts are not designated between a gymnastics type, vs GPP. That's the biggest piece is getting all of the workouts categorized. _________________ TipGuy

| I don't think there is anything wrong with repeating workouts within the same week. |

There's not, but with a randomly selected thing I don't want it to occur frequently. _________________ TipGuy
