does anybody spot these? i was never spotted. i got them, but i have kids asking for spot. what do you think?

When I was watching the other teamates learn these, the coach would spot from behind and grab the waist.

I have spotted these only at summer camp, and yes, I also spot from behind. I don't really like them though. You can't go anywhere with them. Have them learn straddle backs instead, and then they can go to handstand when they're ready.

I like a cut catch because at least it's not a plain old kip. Almost all you ever see is kip, kip, kip. It's only if they can bonus with a harder mount that you ever see anything different. It's such a shame. Coaches think that a skill has to "go somewhere" or else they don't teach it. That makes gymnastics really boring because everyone is out doing the skills that go the same place.
