|

I want to use letters instead of numbers to designate my class levels. Team uses numbers. A class 1 to 3 kid is not the same as a level 1-3 kid. I think it's just confusing to use the designation 1-3 for two different programs in the same gym. I also hate those hot shot/ super tots/ rolly pollys or whatever type of names for training groups.
Classes/Recteam: Levels A-whatever
Preteam/Team: Levels 1-Elite.
How do you organize class levels in your gym? |

One gym I was at, pretty much used
Levels A-C. After C, they were put into level groups on a team track.The gym I'm currently at goes to Level E, then Super E;
Level C=L1, D=2, E=3. After level E they have the choice to go to Super E which is basically a very low key class with girls who are predominantly non competitive or do not have the lines, motivation, etc to make it to L4. As well from Level E they can get into L4 or the training L4 group. Super E also has ex Level 3 and 4's who just did not make it or compete.
A and B are basically intro and intermediate beginner classes. 1 hour a piece. At C, many girls start going twice a week for 1.5. D is 2x1.5 and E is 2x2.
Usually the names at some gyms are used for the younger ones. Sometimes putting a child into a preteam squad makes a hassle later on because the parent or gymnast believes adamantly they will be on team. This isn't such the case since 1-3 are still basically younger kids with the skills and strength.
At some non comp gym, names are used since they don't want comparison of levels. Heck I've even seen gyms mimic the Martial Arts belt programs with colored shirts, ribbons, belts, or stars.
good luck. _________________ Glorify strength. "It is only by becoming stronger that a man can realize his divinity." |

I have the same problem as well. Our classes are levels 1, 2, and 3. Next year I'm considering adding level 3 to our competitive team but I'd have to re-name the classes to avoid confusion... I like the letter idea- I don't like the goofy names either |

Ok, I'm reviving this thread. I need to decide on names for my classes (now levels 1,2,3). I'm stumped. Does anyone have any creative ideas? We're thinking about stuff like flyers, springers, whirlers, gliders, etc... Haha I stole those from other gyms in our area I can't think of my own... |

| Why not names that have to do with the sort of skils they learn at that level. ie the Crazy cartwheel's, happy handstands, Jolly Jumper's, super saulter's. |

| We just use beginner, intermediate, advanced, then 2-Day and Advanced 2-Day. On the track to team its just Advanced Preschool (but some kids in these groups are 6), then pre-team, then level 4. |
