Can anyone tell me what exactly this means and how it differs from just a regular gym meet?
Thanks |

well the biggest part and the reason why i never do Non-Sanctioned meets is they dont have insurance to cover the event. also it sometimes means they wont be using certified judges. if you ask the meet director they do have to tell you all of those details.
happy handstands,

Hi g-mommy,
Sanctioning is a paperwork procedure set out by USAG, yes there are some benefits, but I couldn't spell them all out. When we do, or go to, a non-sanctioned event, it has to do with competing our Level 3's. USAG only sanctions competitions down to L4, and many gyms don't compete below L5. This gives the newby kids and parents the experience.
Just go and enjoy.
