Hey Levski...I just remembered that http://www.ngja.org/ has two video files on flops and all. They're big files so hopefully you have got broadband, or a download program. I'd really say I'd reccomend you to go through that whole site and download just about everything you can. While it might be the same as NZ or AU, I figure it will help you out. . While the 2 flops videos aren't probably as good as doug hills cdrom, it should have those pommel techniques you were looking for and there are some more videos at... I'll just post the 3 pages.

http://www.ngja.org/ncaa0304_02.html
http://www.ngja.org/skileval.html
http://www.ngja2.org/pommels.html

If you don't have broadband or time...use Download Accelerator version 5.3 available on download.com
If that doesn't help, send me a pm.

I guess there are a few other men's coaches here...I think 4 or 5 but they probably already have this stuff down pat. I've been basically studying everything I've got and trying to read everything I can online as I'm trying to apply and interview for a few gyms.

I was looking that website and I came across that CD you where talking about again, and I just figured what the hell, I will buy it Now, and think of how I am gonna pay it later. Lucky the NZ dollar is the strongest ever compared to the US something like $1NZ= .70cUS, so I will pay something like 120US which means I found out where my next paycheck it going haha. BUt I am sure it will be worth it.
I see what you mean the vids on that site are huge, it will take me for ever to download all of it, but it is ALLL good.

Thanks once again Blair
Good luck for the inteviews. Wink

Unless that book is in the public domain, please do not scan and send around copyright material. Aside from it being a violation of copyright laws it's simply not fair to those who write and publish the books. The copying does impact folks income. The people it hurts most are those that are not making the millions. Thanks for being socially concious.

Scanning for your own use is fine. As soon as you share it with another individual it becomes a violation. Even if the book is out of print and 30 years old it's still under copyright. If the publisher is out of business it changes things, but most likely their rights were purchased when they went out. I am pretty strict on the copyright thing cause I've been working with a lot of music industry folks over the past few years and it's a pretty ugly situation right now.

I have no opinion, on one hand I would kill (figuratively speaking) for that book, on the other hand I would not want to get anyone in trouble. Blair do what you think is best in my opinion.

I will look and see if one of those online used book depots have it. I'll have to see if I can remember the name. The first 15 or so pages kinda got destroyed.
Doug's cdrom includes illustrations of each skill + the video. So it's way better in that sense also since it's far more up to date and will show FIG values. Video is just so much easier to learn and train with that illustrations.
Yes, the RIAA and music and movie industry is a real mess right now. Back to the conversation, I should get my taxes down online so I can Doug's cdrom. I'm running out of stuff I want from the USAG site. Greg Schrams is on my list too. I'm not sure what I'll get from it, probably similar what I got from Jeff Lulla's fun and fit programs. Still though they were entertaining and I'd like to collect a sort of library so when I might have a gym one day down the road. Wonder what it will be like then.

Yeah power to you Blair, I too want to one day own my own gym, and coach in it as well. God it would be soooooo cool, knowing that you have pored your heart and soul into a place that shapes kids into perfect human physical condition, and if my club produces Olympic gymansts I would die happy. It almost brings a tear to my eye thinking about it, well that and the fact that I just watched Blackhawk Down and the music is very emotional, but the two fit hand in hand (the emotional part).

Man thanks Blair, I download those vids and I learned what Stoklies and loops, and flops and russins are, well I knew russians and loops, but now I can spot them in routines, AWESOME. If only those guys form that website made vids like that for all apparatuses it would be sure, but I hope that CD will do the trick. When I get in in about 2 weeks I will tell you coaches what it is like.

Who is the publisher of the book. You should see if you can get permission. Get their name, do a Google search, contact them. Most publishers are quite reasonable when they are asked.

Thanks, TipGuy...now to just find the abused pieces of the book since it's packed somewhere. I thought it was called Men's sequential gymnastics. Gotta look for that cover.

Umm what do you mean by system, computer or the gymanstics system in NZ??? We here in NZ use pretty much the same system as the Australians, but not to the same degree, because there is no real money coming form the Governament to support facilities, and athletes.
I think that was something like what you where asking?? Confused
